Brand Strategy

The first stage of brand strategy is our 'brand analysis'. Using standardised questions, we capture the essence of a business - the corporate brand values, the missions statement, the perceptions of customers & the brand aspirations. This enables us to create custom logo design concepts that are truly reflective of the business. We are continually researching & learning for the most fertile creative environment with brand concepts that are unique & stunning.

Custom Logo Design

E-creation has been creating custom corporate logos with brand strategy for over 10 years. Whilst you may get a logo design for £100 using a 'brand template' website, the quality & creativity offered is in no way reflective of the quality of a custom logo design that typically costs between £600 to £1,800 with E-creation (remember, you and your customers will be stuck with seeing your logo as reflection of your business for at least a few years).

If you are interesting in brand design and the power of that brand development can have on your business, we highly recommend the following books:

  • The 22 Immutable Laws of Branding by Al Ries and Laura Ries
  • No Logo by Naomi Klein
  • A Mind of its Own by Cordelia Fine
  • Predicatably Irrational by Dan Ariely
  • The Paradox of Choice by Barry Schwartz

These are quick, easy-to-read books that will change the way you think about company & corporate logos and more specifically how effective corporate branding can be.

*Incidentally, Business Week agrees with us on this one and has voted The Paradox of Choice, Why Less is More a 'Top 10 Book of the Year'.

Professional Brand Building

When developing a brand identity for a businesses, E-creation uses its unique brand analysis system to help the client understand what they business stands for and to challenge the client's perceptions of their businesses. It is far to easy for businesses to become 'wrapped up' in their own messages and not spend the time listening to what their clients (and potential clients) are expecting in terms of communication style and design.

E-creation starts the brand analysis with our 'brand values' document, where clients are asked to rate their business on:

  • Traditional vs. Contemporary
  • Light vs. Dark
  • Large vs. Small
  • Personals vs. Automated
  • Challenging vs. Easy

This provides measurable performance analysis factors for the brand & helps the businesses better understand itself. Introducing 'persuasion science' into the creative process (in areas such as color theory, number theory, bandwagon effect & NLP) enables E-creation to deliver the most effective logos & brands.

Corporate Brand Design Process

When creating custom corporate logo design, E-creation provides three logo design concepts for discussion with the business. For Inclusive Behaviour Publications (IBP), our three custom logo designs reflected the client's mission of 'inclusiveness in teaching':

Once an appropriate logo is selected, corporate branding is visualised across stationary & media to ensure a consistent brand strategy. The corporate brand guidelines below illustrate usage in media, stationary, online & B/W versions:

To ensure a consistent 'visual language', an image libary with appropriate visual language is created. IBP's 'teacher's desk' theme was adopted to keep in line with brand strategy:

If appropriate, website concepts are developed. A custom logo design makes it much easier to create unique & engaging website designs:

Additional marketing materials such as CD-ROM, marketing e-mails & exhibition materials can be created as part of the corporate logo design service:

For me, logo development my favourite service available at E-creation. The first step is capturing the 'essence' of an organisation through our 'brand analysis system' provides a deep understanding a company's corporate branding & brand building objectives plus the little things that make that company unique (which are very rarely reflected in their brand until we become involved!). It's amazing how often companies do not have a clear picture how they position themselves and who their target customers are - something a good brand agency or brand consultant should ALWAYS consider to be the most important stage of an corporate branding exercise.

The design stage tends to flow out easily once brand analysis is complete and we produce between three & nine unique logo designs, which the creative director will hone down to the most apprpriate logo designs to present to the client and market research groups. The market research provides a 'true picture' public opinion which is fed back to our logo design team for refinement.

100% happy with the smooth running of the web site. It looks very professional and does 'what it says on the tin.' We are most impressed ... we have our first orders and after two weeks have 20 universities interested and on board.
